CAFOD

For every £1 that you donated, in 23/24 CAFOD spent 79p on international development, emergencies, education, campaigning, and advocacy work, 11p was spent to generate future income, and 10p was spent on support costs required to run the organisation.

We allocate those support costs between our charitable activities and income generation.

When that is done, for every £1 you donated in 23/24 88p was spent on making change happen and 12p on fundraising.

Of the 88p spent on our change activities:

  • 39p was spent to fund our international programmes work;

  • 42p was spent on emergencies and disaster relief;

  • 7p was spent on advocacy, campaigning and UK education.

When CAFOD announces an emergency appeal, we commit that 90p in every £1 donated is spent directly on our work to respond to that appeal and only 10p is set aside to cover the administrative and support costs needed to manage an emergency appeal.
