We are CAFOD, your Catholic Agency for Overseas Development and the official aid agency for the Catholic Church in England and Wales.

We believe a better world is one that's good for everyone. That's why we work together, side by side, with local experts and community leaders to build a world where no one has their life limited by the injustices of poverty, conflict or the climate crisis.

We help hardworking women and men to face these injustices head on, bravely turning hope to joy.

How we work

Our impact

We've been working side by side with communities all around the world for more than 60 years. In that time, we've stood with millions of women, men and children doing whatever they can to make the world better; for themselves, for their families, for their communities – for all of us.

We've helped hardworking farmers find ways to grow fresh fruit and vegetables in land laid bare by drought. We've supported local water engineers, repairing pumps and finding ways to catch every precious drop of rain. Mums and dads have managed to send their kids to school – and those kids have become teachers, doctors, entrepreneurs. Many have gained new skills and are now helping the same communities they grew up in.
